OUTFIT: Day #3 IFW ft. Shorts Suit

I mentioned it in my twitter @themondaydiary that I've been MIA on my blog and I'm really sorry about that. It's just that my classes has taken most of my time since I decided to be more focused on it. Thinking on posting my drawings, what do you think? Anyways, here finally comes the last outfit that I wore to Indonesia Fashion Week.

The theme is Men & Urban Contemporer and I thought a little bit masculine touch won't hurt. I've been eyeing on shorts suit for these last couple of weeks and it all started when I saw Gabriella Wilde in Burberry shows;

She has successfully stupefied me with the trouser suits that she wore which was really surprising since I thought she was more to the feminine side but I realized it doesn't always have to be a skirt, or a dress to look girly. Since then, I have observed that tailored suits were dominating the runways of women's apparel and occupying the streets as well. 

Hearing the word 'suits', I immediately perceived the what appears to be a working woman with the long straight pressed linen pants and the blazer but fashion has taken it to the next level. Giving it a little bit of summer twist so that we can as well wear it in casual occasions. 

With my obsession with shorts suit, and the idea that the theme of the third day of IFW was Men & Urban Contemporer, I went textile hunting right away and went to a tailor to make my suits. And it turned out to be just like what I expected to be like!

I chose Batik as the textile as I thought it would be interesting to give it a touch of my culture. I couldn't contain my excitement when I found just the perfect textile with the perfect batik pattern and a solid purple color with a bit of shiny material. Just exactly what I needed.. I paired with a white t-shirt since I wanted the suits to be the point of the whole outfit.
